CVS
UPDATE
The
i’s are being dotted and the t’s crossed and CVS Pharmacy will soon be rearing
to go. CVS is holding a job fair at the
store at Front and Elm on Thursday
December 10, 2015 between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 pm. I spoke with the CVS Regional District
Manager this week and he indicated they will be seeking to hire 15-20 full-time
employees by the time the store officially opens on Sunday January 24, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.
CVS,
located at the northwest corner of Front and Elm (3900 W Elm and pictured above), will operate as
a 24-hour store immediately upon opening.
Much anticipation and hard work has occurred to get to this point and while
the official grand opening will occur a few weeks following the store will
officially begin serving customers on January
24, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.!
Celebrating
our Community (2015 Year in Review)
It’s
hard to believe another year is almost over but at the same time what a great
year it has been! I am preparing a City
of McHenry economic development and community year in review for an upcoming
post which will feature new businesses which have opened and/or expanded; community
events, as well as new avenues and activities which highlight what the City of
McHenry has done to promote economic development, as well as additional things planned
for the future. This is from my vantage point however and successful community
economic development incorporates and involves all members of the community. So I need your help to assist me in highlighting
the City of McHenry in 2015. If you have pictures,
selfies, short video clips or other format of media, stories, comments, etc.
please forward to me at dmartin@ci.mchenry.il.us. Here are the general guidelines:
- Event, business, etc. which you are highlighting must be located within or directly tied to the City of McHenry.
- Pictures, selfies, stories and comments must be
related to economic development, and by this I mean-promotion of the City of McHenry as a great place to live, work
and play.
- Submission must
be positive and the intent here is to sell and celebrate the City of
McHenry in 2015!
- Please submit
items no later than Friday December 11!
- You consent to publication of pictures, videos, (see fine print below), stories, comments submitted to me for use and purpose describe above.
- Here’s the fine print: by submitting a photograph, video or
other media, you are agreeing to the following policy: You hereby grant permission to the City
of McHenry to use your likeness and/or that of your child/children (if applicable), whether
through the use of photographs, video, or other media, for City of McHenry
promotional and public outreach purposes. You understand that your likeness
may be used in City of McHenry publications, literature, the internet, or
other visual means that the City of McHenry may choose to use to promote
the City of McHenry, its various departments, and its activities. You hereby
release and waive any claim you may have against the City of McHenry, its
officers, or employees.
Below
is a graphic I created which depicts many of the ways which residents,
businesses, City employees, stakeholders and visitors alike give back to our
City, promote and celebrate the City of McHenry as a great community. Thank
you in advance for your assistance with this endeavor and hope your Holiday
Season is healthy, safe and enjoyable!
Please help us keep our community vibrant and strong to the greatest
extent practical for businesses, residents and visitors alike! The City Council is continually evaluating
ways to assist in promoting business, tourism, community events and
service! Economic development is an
ongoing effort the City is committed to and is a community-wide effort. At the end of the day the entire community
and everyone who is a part of it benefits!
