On Sunday
June 7, 2015 the Northwest Herald published their annual Northwest Herald
Readers’ Choice Awards for businesses throughout McHenry County. Following I’ve listed all the businesses
located within the City of McHenry which were acknowledged and the categories
under which they were recognized. I’ve
also included their addresses so you can patronize these businesses or utilize their services, and I
would certainly encourage you to do so. Find
out for yourself and support local businesses in the process!
There are
many other businesses in the City of McHenry however which are also quality
establishments, offering a diverse range of products and services but are not
included in the lists below. In fact I
would encourage you to conduct your own survey, create your own categories
beyond those included below and patronize those businesses in the City of
McHenry. Further I would also encourage
you to patronize those businesses, or utilize their services, which do fall within the categories created
by the Northwest Herald and conduct your own survey of businesses solely in the
City of McHenry. You be the judge and
promote local businesses in the process!
As I
mentioned this list includes a finite number of categories which myriad
businesses in the City would not fall into. Remember not to forget those businesses. Shopping local, businesses using other local
businesses for products and services and residents taking advantage of all the
wonderful products and services we have just in the City of McHenry is a great
way to keep these companies open and growing; providing employment for
residents and an opportunity to showcase the City to others who visit or spend
a day or weekend in the City of McHenry but do not live here!!!
So in
conclusion I encourage you to do the following:
· Take the challenge and let me know if there are other businesses in the City of McHenry which fall into the categories below which should be included;
· Secondly let me know what other categories
could be included and what businesses should be included in these
additional categories and why. This is by means an attempt to diminish the
Northwest Herald survey but simply a fun way and opportunity to learn more
about businesses located solely in the City of McHenry and support them in the
process!!!!
